5 - TOP AFFILIATE
MARKETING TOOLS:
These affiliate marketing tools are the best I've
run across - and I'll tell
you briefly why I think so. I've listed the tools that I and others
have found most useful for a number of situations related to affiliate
marketing.
Of course, this doesn't
necessarily mean that you'll want to use them all! Some may be
of interest only to a webmarketer, for example; others may be of interest
only for a certain period of time - or not at all, depending on your goals
and your personal inclinations. Some
of these tools are free (which probably means that you'll be subject to
advertising in some fashion as your "payment" for them! - though
perhaps only in hopes that you'll opt for some for-pay product or service as
well... which I point out only so that you'll be sure to take note of
how other people are, sometimes very creatively, making use of the lure of
"free stuff" :^). Some are promoted via affiliate programs -
and where I've signed up as an affiliate for them, I've left the affiliate
links "naked" (instead of masking them in some way - which I
discuss briefly in the next chapter,
How to
Get the Most Out of Your Affiliate Programs) so you can see what
they look like, if this isn't familiar to you. (Note how bizarro some
of the links are! Also touched on in the next chapter is how the
choice of a personal ID - when you are given such a choice - affects
the "look and feel" of your link.) I've
annotated the listings to show which of these tools offer affiliate
programs - in case they prove to be of interest to you for that
purpose. I trust that you won't be trying to promote affiliate
marketing tools to your own clientele without good cause! But it
generally doesn't hurt to use your own link for an affiliate program when
you do have a good reason to include a merchant's product/service on your
site.
